Cox’s River Rest is situated in the Megalong Valley on 464 acres – and is 2 hrs and 07 minutes from Sydney CBD. While the farm animals here are horses, you do have lots of countryside around you.

Three accommodation houses – all very different – spaced way apart on the property

First in their line up is Warialda Cottage

Warialda is a unusual 3 bedroom house it has bee built from natural earth and is powered off-the-grid with solar energy system. It has 3 bedrooms, 2 of them have queen beds, in the other 1 double bed. It has an open upstairs loft area this area has 3 more single beds.

It has a bathroom with a shower and bath, and also has 2 toilets – as well as a laundry with washer.

The kitchen offers a gas stove and also a oven, a microwave, a kettle, plenty of cutlery and crockery. There is a gas BBQ on the deck for a great outdoor ‘real Aussie feast’ – throw the proverbial ‘shrimp on the barbie’.

Avaleigh Elms is located in Oberon and is 2 hrs and 45 minutes from Sydney CBD.

Avaleigh Elms is a very well equipped country farmstay which offers accommodation for up to four.

There is a queen bedroom, and also another bedroom which offers 2 singles. You can indeed self cater here, or you can even go down to the hosts house for a friendly and delicious homecooked breakfast – please note there is an extra charge for this.

Donkeys, alpacas, horses, sheep, and hens are all here on their farm. Avaleigh Elms will make you welcome, your pets are welcome to stay too – and for something different, you can even bring your own horse! There is plenty of riding trails nearby. Hill farm has 115 acres and is a working farm, it is 2 hrs and 30 minutes from Sydney GPO it is used for fattening Angus steers – which are the only farm animals.

Focus here is the super modernist house and the country views.

The house is modern and architect designed and it has a modern fully facilitated kitchen.

Parma Farm is 2 hours 40 minutes from Sydney city and it is both Heritage listed and also classified by the National Trust of Australia, it is the oldest property in the area – come an enjoy a sense of early Australia.

It has lovely gardens and an enclosed front yard

There are stunning views across the paddocks and then onto the national park beyond.

Their are just cows and chooks here – Watch the cows in the paddocks, and kick back watching for and listening to the birds in the plethora of trees.

There is a conservation corridor at the base of the property, it includes a creek and a large clearing which is perfect for a picnic, and home to many examples of wildlife.

The Lodge Farm – Fitzroy Falls is just 1 hrs 47 minutes from Sydney CBD providing accommodation for four persons it offers 2 bedrooms and also 2 bathrooms.

It is a self contained lodge house, and is situated on a 70 acre Beef cattle farm.

The largest of the bedrooms offers a king bed and ensuite.

Next door there is is a bedroom which offers bunk beds – Bed linen and towels are provided. There is also a living and dining area.

A fully functional kitchen and there is also another ‘main’ bathroom for the house – with a shower.

The entertaining area offers a wood fireplace, comfortable lounge seating, an al fresco dining setting for 6 , a relaxing sunbed and a breakfast bar.
