The Station consists of 970 hectares of gently undulating, very beautiful rural country, lightly timbered with many species of eucalyptus. There is red gum and yellow box found on the hills.
To provide extra feed in winter, the farmer plants crops of oats, and pasture is improved too with minerals and fertilizers to increase yield this is also for feed.
Sheep shearing demonstrations are often held for their many visitors, and there are bushwalking trails you can take – where you can see the outline of the farm and its paddocks. Coach groups are most welcome too.
Pelican Sheep Station offers up a very unique way to see traditional Australian country life. It is found in the centre of Goulburn’s sheep district – one of the greatest, and most famous wool producing areas in the world. Visit the big Merino while in Goulburn – don’t miss it!

The accommodation is old rustic basic country style – but it has the basics that you need.
Linen is an extra charge and you need to discuss linen when you call, during your booking. Come for a great fun, and an educational stay in the true rural outback without travelling for hours – its definitely not glamorous, nor is it luxurious – but will give you a true sense of the real farming of Australia.
Accommodation is quite basic, there is a three Bedroom House, with one double bedroom, there are also 2 bedrooms with two singles, there are electric blankets for the cold nights, and a laundry. Reverse Cycle Air-Conditioning coupled with a slow combustion wood fire will keep you comfortable whatever the season. There is crockery, cutlery and a well equipped kitchen.
They also have four, two bedroom Caravan Park Style Cabins – each of them have a double bed provided with linen & electric blanket, and there are also 2 bunk beds. They both have kitchen facilities with a microwave, stove top elements, crockery & cutlery, each has a bar fridge, a bathroom, and also reverse cycle Air-Conditioning.
The Lodge offers 4 x 2 bedroom units all with one shared bathroom.
These bedroom units in the Lodge offer an excellent opportunity to hold a family reunion, the lodge has a quite large common room with cooking facilities, a fridge, tables and chairs and TV.
The Lodge has enough seating in the Common Room for 30 people.
Pelican Sheep Station is good and inexpensive for tradespeople working in the region too.
