The Cedars is the biggest private wildlife sanctuary in the Kangaroo Valley situated within one of the most scenic valleys in Australia.
Located 2 hours and 34 minutes from Sydney CBD.
After the long and winding very narrow road from Camberrawarra or the Southern Highlands you will find a wonderful paradise. Drive carefully.
As a luxury retreat for choosey travellers, The Cedars has an ethic toward minimising the human impact on its surroundings, and the natural ecosystem – in support of conservation ideals.
For travellers whose respect for nature makes it imperative to live a life “with light footprints” and for those with an interest for adventure, exercise and the outdoors, The Cedars has what is needed for some time out.
Farm Animal experiences consist of animal feed time at about 8am, something that children love.
At this time we feed chooks, donkeys, goats, horses, pigs, sheep, and we have our calving cows in the nursery paddock.
Here at the Cedars there is lots of free space for the kids to run around or even swim in the creek.
In the evening we can take you for a walk to see Glow Worms, and if lucky do a little Wombat spotting on the way back. The things you can participate a the Cedars are Bush walks, to take in native flora and fauna, and bird watching.
There are many kilometres of walking trails at the Cedars.
We are adjacent to the Morton and Buderoo National Parks. Walks along tracks through lush rainforest which will take you to the bottom of the eastern Valley escarpment.
Bird life is all around you everywhere, their sounds will awaken you at sunrise then the owls will take over after dark.
These fully equipped cottages can accommodate between 2 – 6.
