Tobruk Sheep Station – Maroota – Hawkesbury Region

Tobruk Sheep Station will show you life in Australia – an authentic country farm stay is available here just over an hour from Sydney – It will provide your group with a touristy take on rural, outback farm experience.

Touristy farm activities do have a strict timetable. It consists of a show named the Tobruk Australian Outback Show it features: Billy tea and damper making, sheep mustering and then an exhibition of shearing, you will see stockmen on horseback working with the sheep and showing you the clever working sheep dogs you will see and exhibition of whip cracking and some boomerang throwing


Most people come to Tobruk for the day to see the Aussie show. But you can stay here. The Station Homestead sleeps up to 12 people, with a large dining room, there is also a separate lounge/living room, wrap around decks, a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom. All linen and towels provided. Children are most welcome here.

The Drovers Cabin It sleeps four to five people and is a cute overnighter with a mixture of double beds, bunks, a kitchenette, balcony, barbecue facilities and more.

Tobruk Station offers an authentic, rustic dusty, country charm. This is combined with a stunning backdrop of Aussie bush, paddocks and dams, views all the way to the Hawkesbury River Valley, and the Blue Mountains.

Tobruk is very popular with overseas guests with little time – who still want an Outback Aussie Experience to add to their stay in Australia, without being too far from Sydney.  It is accessed by public transport too!
