Cooradigbee Farm Stay is located in Wee Jasper – well known for its wonderful limestone caves. Drive time from Sydney CBD is 3 hrs and 54 mins.
No petting, or feeding farm animals, or activities here.
It is suitable for large groups or just a family needing a farm stay, the land is paddocks and natural bush country, the property is 7500 acres some run sheep!
You could hold a wedding and reception. Have a reunion, or host a conference.
Today Cooradigbee Homestead stands proud and stately, in the rural landscape.
The Farm Stay accommodation consists of The Homestead which has 5 double bedrooms – newly renovated – with 4 bedrooms each having its own ensuite bathrooms, the fifth having a marble bathroom next door but all of its own. All rooms have French Provincial doors – all these open out onto a large communal verandah with lovely views. Alfresco is key to the dining here!
At the other end of the scale you can choose the very basic no frills Shearers Quarters. The shearers Quarters are still used when in shearing season! It accommodates up to 29 people. The corrugated iron shearers quarters is strictly No Frills, with a very basic kitchen with only enamelware and no glasses. Toilets and bathroom are communal
It has 7 bedrooms, each sleeping 4 people in 2 sets of metal bunk beds. Beds are made with clean mattress covers only so you do need bring your own towels, for your bedding bring everything too – pillows, sheets, doonas covers or blankets. These can all be provided at an additional charge. Remember – it can get very bitterly cold so bring extra. The communal wash house has 3 individual bathrooms with gas hot water and septic toilets. The quarters has wheelchair access too.
The shearers quarters is just a 3 minute walk to the Cooradigbee Homestead. In winter – warmth is provided by slow combustion wood heating, all your wood is supplied. There is instant gas hot water for your showers and kitchen but please economise your water use.
Cooradigbee Cottage is also known as the Shearers cottage it has been recently renovated. The cottage sleeps 6 people in 2 bedrooms. It is found in a paddock setting, and offers the perfect spot for a little family. The cottage is basic – has a septic toilet, and instantaneous gas hot water.
Beds are made up with clean mattress covers only, so you do still need to bring do bring pillows, your sheets, blankets and towels or a doona and cover. It is Fully self contained,
The kitchen has just an oven and hot plates, a fridge and microwave. You will find crockery, cutlery, pots and pans, but it is to be understood the accomodation is “no frills”. Heating is gas. It is really back to simply living and nature.
You can search for fossils here perhaps visit the Wee Jasper caves or the ACT– very educational. Sheep are also on the property.
