Gryphon Lodge near Junee is 4 hours and 59 minutes from Sydney CBD. The Gryphon Lodge owners Fran and Keith Griffin, graduates from Sydney’s Conservatorium of Music and keen cyclists, have effortlessly created a home away from home for travellers. You will be staying with your hosts. Alpacas, sheep and chickens. No Children.
We have two guest rooms, each with a queen sized bed. The three-way bathroom is shared among guests.
Set just outside Junee you will notice on arrival the expansive verandah, which provides the perfect spot to enjoy a glass of local wine while watching the sunset.
Mornings are filled with the delightful aroma of freshly ground green coffee beans and breakfast includes the couple’s very own bread, pastries, and brioche.
By day wander the paddocks visiting with the other residents including the alpacas.
The Griffin’s can steer you towards local attractions or as ex-ride leaders can organise tailored cycling programs around the scenic backroads of Junee.
Dinner is available on request and well worth a night in, with Keith and Fran showcasing an array of ingredients from their cottage garden to locally sourced produce. The meal is surpassed only by the delightful company of your hosts. Additionally there is a separate lounge/sitting room for guests, complete with cosy open fireplace and french doors opening onto the front verandah – and that view.
Gryphon Lodge sits on ten hectares of hillside land only 3km from the centre of Junee. The panoramic view from the guest rooms and verandah is just part of the enjoyment to be experienced at Gryphon Lodge.
We grow much of our own vegetables and fruit, and we’ve fresh eggs from our chickens so you can have an even better breakfast.
Wander across our paddocks, watching the varied bird life in our trees. Our friendly alpacas will eat out of your hand.
And if you’re super lucky, you might be here when our dorper ewes have lambs.
