Trilby Station is 125km south west of Bourke, and is located near the village of Louth.

Trilby Station is On the banks of the majestic Darling River. It is a great way to comfortably experience the rugged beauty of outback NSW. You’ll be staying with the Murray family on their 5th generation family sheep station, which stretches an amazing 80,900 hectares. Show your family how huge Australia really is.

Two-bedroom cabins are all air-conditioned. You can self-cater at the Barbeque or cook in the Camp Kitchen this Communal Kitchen has a Communal Refrigerator. Alternatively the Murrays will organise delicious home-cooked meals delivered to your cabin.

With about 24,000 Merino sheep, Trilby Station traces its history back to the vast Dunlop station – the first ever sheep station to complete a mechanical shearing in 1888. You’ll discover abundant wildlife on the station, near the village of Louth.

Trilby Station also offers secluded river campsites, dotted along the river bank, with the use of bathroom facilities at the Shearer’s Bunkhouse.
Each campsite features a fire pit and wheelie bin for rubbish. If you’re staying a few days then consider bringing a chain saw to gather fallen firewood. Canoes, yabby nets and station mud map drives are included in the tariff.
A communal Washing Machine is here for your use.

The Shearer’s Bunkhouse

The Shearer’s Bunkhouse is located close to The Darling River, it offers 9 twin share, 2 x single beds in each room, these beds are made with linen, have electric blankets, and the rooms also have heating.

Six of these bedrooms have reverse cycle heating and cooling and the remaining three have fans and heaters.

A community dining room offers air-conditioning and a slow combustion heater,

There is a large, fully equipped kitchen – two gas stoves, microwave, freezer, fridge, crockery for the bunkhouse

The bunkhouse is set in a garden setting it has a gas barbecue, a gazebo campfire area.

The Overseer’s Cottage

Is 2 bedroom, fully self-contained Overseer’s Cottage has a fully fenced garden and is lovely and close to the Darling River. The Master Bedroom is a double, the second bedroom has three singles, and a sofabed in the lounge. All beds are already made in this particular cottage awaiting your arrival with linen and towels provided.

The cottage has laundry facilities is air-conditioned and heated, Electric Blankets.

The house is traditional Australian – decorated with wooden floorboards, antique furniture, a television, electric blankets, microwave, minibar, Tea/Coffee making facilities, and a gas barbecue outside. Relax on your own verandah – overlooking the landscaped salt water pool.

The Jillaroo’s Cottage

Jillaroo’s Cottage is a self-contained, air-conditioned, there are electric blankets – it is a simple small two bedroom cottage, on the boundary of the Homestead gardens. The queen room also has a trundle bed and the second bedroom has two singles.

Your private-use heated bathroom, is just a few steps away.

The cottage features a comfortable Lounge and Dining Area, entertainment in the evening is Pay TV and there is a DVD and a Blueray Player. There are wonderful polished wooden floors, television, electric stove, microwave, a patio and outdoor gas barbecue overlooking the landscaped swimming pool. Don’t forget Liz is happy to cater for all or some of your meals and offers hampers, however bookings are essential.

Powered Sites

Trilby Station offers five powered caravan sites. there is a new camp kitchen here,  barbecue, gazebo and paved campfire area – there are shared bathroom and laundry facilities,  These are only 200 metres from the mighty Darling River.
